Co. G 7th Regt. GA Militia Buried in the Young Cemetery, Ben Hill County, Ga."Confederate Interments-Compiled by the Wilcox Rifles, U. D. C." lists him as a C. S. A. Filed for pension Ben Hill County.

Dec. 2, 1864 ordered to take command of the men in Wilcox County between the ages of 55 and 60 years of age by Aide-de-Camp A.C.Pate. Samuel Young married Mary Luke 2-12-1845 in Thomas Co. GA. He is buried in Young's Cemetery Ben Hill County.
