Mr. John A.
Tomberlin, George R. Tomberlin & Martha Tomberlin, were present on
Friday September 17th in the year of Lord 1880 at the
residence of Wright Tomberlin before & at the time of his death. About
10 hours before his death, in perfect possession of his mental
facilities as appeared to us, said Wright Tomberlin, called upon the
bystanders & upon the undersigned in particular to remember & take
notice of what he was about to say, when he said that he had given to
his son Wright S. Tomberlin lot of land no 110 in the first district of
said County & State containing four hundred & ninety acres also his bay
horse mule named Majer and devised his loving wife Martha Tomberlin
would see that his wishes & desires in this regard were carefully
carried out & controlled said named property for his son Wright S.
Tomberlin until he became twenty-one years of age, also to control the
person of said Wright S. Tomberlin until he becomes of age, he, Wright
Tomberlin furthermore requested the undersigned to bear in mind that he
owed Betty Fitzgerald his daughter, one hundred dollars that she had no
kind of showing for & that the money was at that time in the house so he
requested & desired that his beloved wife Martha Tomberlin to pay over
to Betty Fitzgerald the one hundred dollars, after which he died the
same day.

that this writing contains the just request & verbal disposition of the
property named of Wright Tomberlin deceased, late of said county it is

We G. R.
Reid Sr, Elias Turner & D.F. McCrimmon were present Friday morning,
September the seventeenth (17) eighteen hundred & eighty (1880) in the
year of our Lord, at the residence of Wright Tomberlin before his death;
about ten hours before his death in perfect possession of his mental
faculties as appeared to us, said Wright Tomberlin called upon the
bystanders & upon the undersigned in particular to render & take notice
of what he was about to say, when he said that he had given to his
daughter, Manda J. Wilcox the east half of land lot no. 106 in the first
district of said county & state, but he’d neglected to give her a deed
to the same but now before these witnesses is given to his daughter
Manda J. Wilcox & her children the east half of land lot no. 106 in the
first district of said county & state, containing two hundred & forty
five acres & he desired & requested that his friend G.R. Reid Sr. would
see that his wishes & desires in this regard were carried fully out,
dying on the same day.
