In the name of God, amen, I William Atkins of said State & County being in ill health & knowing that I must shortly depart this life deem it right & proper both as respects myself & my family that I should make a disposition of the property which a kind Providence here with, do therefore make this my last Will & Testament hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. 

1st Item I desire & direct that my body be buried in a decent & christainlike manner wherefore I commit to God who gave it. 

2nd Item I desire & direct that all my just debts be paid without delay by my executor herewithin appointed executrix. 

3rd Item I give, bequeath & devise to my beloved wife Sarah with whom I have lived in the strictest quiet for many years all of my Real Estate with all the right members, appurtenances therefore belong for from all change or initiative whatever to her own proper use, benefit to her. However with full power to dispose of the same at any time previous as by will or deed to her death as she may think proper, I also give to my beloved wife in the same unreserved manner all of my personal property of my Estate every & all kinds whatsoever no matter of what name & nature. I also appoint & constitute my beloved wife Guardian of my beloved children which we now have or may have during their minority until legally discharged & it is my desire that one should have a suitable School education so they may fill their station in life with credit to themselves & to their parents. 

4th Item I hereby constitute & appoint my friend Simon Stanley Executor & my beloved wife Sarah Executrix of my Last Will & Testament so long as she shall remain a widow.

Before me James W. Mashburn Ordinary of said county came in person Sarah Atkins executrix of the last Will & Testament of William Atkins deceased & also the witnesses of said will E. J. H. Dunn & Nancy Stanley & being duly sworn, depose & say that they saw William Atkins sign & publish the foregoing as his last Will & Testament while of sound & disposing mind. That they witnessed the same for him at his request & in his presence & of each other & that the same was executed voluntarily by him on the day it purports to have been presented.
