These Cemetery records were originally transcribed and published in The Passing of the Pines: A History of Wilcox County Georgia Volumes I, II and III by authors, Mary Lou L. McDonald and Samuel Jordan Lawson III. These books are copyrighted and we have asked for and received permission to use them on this website. We appreciate their generosity in allowing us to use these records on this web site. A complete inventory of the tombstone inscriptions in the city cemetery of Pineview was made by Harry Blue on 28 October 1981. It was my intent to show the genealogical information only from the markers. In this listing you will find the complete name, including any reference to mother or father or other person and the birth and death dates in that order. The city of Pineview is located in the north central part of Wilcox County. It is approximately 13 miles due south of Hawkinsville, Pulaski County, and is on Georgia Highway 112. To reach the cemetery as you drive southward on Georgia Highway 112 you will make a turn to the left at the first road at the north edge of town and proceed along this street to the street immediately beyond or east of the Methodist church, then turn left into this street and proceed 2 mile into the cemetery. The cemetery lies on the left side of the road and the roads are paved. There are approximately one hundred and ten (110) well marked graves in this cemetery. When a military marker exists this noted immediately below the original listing by showing the inscription from the military marker. Also when special markings such as Masonic or Woodmen of the World emblems appear, I have made a note of this fact. I have attempted to be completely accurate in this listing. Errors may have occurred. If so it was because of the difficulty in reading a particular inscription or purely a human error. If such error appears, please forgive me. The following is a listing of those gravesites in the Pineview Georgia cemetery which have no legible inscriptions. In most instances there are no markings at all. Each of these will be shown as near or adjacent to another grave which does have identifying marks. 1.-2. A slab marker; these two are nearest the gravesite of Annie L. Ham. 3. A slab marker to the left of the gravesite of Leon Thomas Smith. 4.-5. A slab marker; these two are to the left of the marker above and near the grave of Leon Thomas Smith. 6. A slab markerto the left of the gravesite of Charles K. Smith. There is a funeral home type marker at the head of this slab marker, however I could not read the information on it. 7. A slab marker in a group of seven slab markers each of which has a funeral home type marker at its head with the exception of the sixth gravesite in the line. This gravesite had no identifying marks. This slab marker is adjacent to the gravesite of Claude Clay. This ends the total enumeration of the gravesites in the Pineview City Cemetery, Wilcox County, Georgia.
