Mrs. W. G. Massey
Mrs. William Grady Massey, 80 of Route 2, Cordele, died this morning at Crane
Retirement Home.
Mrs. Massey, a native of Wilcox County, was the former Miss Lena Mae Holliday,
daughter of the late William Alec and Mary K. Newell Holliday. She had resided
in Crisp County for 30 years and was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Grady
Watson of Cordele and Mrs. Dewey McGlamry of Fitzgerald; one brother, Floyd E.
Holliday of Dalton; six granddaughters and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m.
Wednesday at Union Baptist Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery
in Wilcox County.
Dekle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McCuller
Mrs. Bessie Gibbs McCuller, 73, of 756 Applewood St., died Monday in a
local nursing home after a brief illness. Arrangements will be announced by
Hart's Mortuary.
Mrs. McCuller, a resident of Macon most of her life, was a member of
Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. L.D. Byrd of Macon and Mrs. C.M.
Hinson of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a son, Morris G. Crawford of Macon; seven
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Bessie Gibbs McCuller, 73, of 756 Applewood St., who died

Notes from submitter: Elizabeth "Bessie" Lee (Gibbs) Crawford was born on 19
Dec. 1904 in Georgia, daughter of Francies Marion Gibbs & Lee Elizabeth (Rowe)
Gibbs. She married George Crawford on 6 March 1921 in Wilcox Co., GA but lived
most of her life in Macon, Bibb Co., GA.

LOU VERA MERRITT
ROCHELLE - Mrs. Lou Vera Merritt, 55, of Ashley St.,
died Saturday after a brief illness. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in
the chapel of Frazier and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Morningside
Cemetery.
Mrs. Merritt, a native of Marion County, Fla., had
lived in Wilcox County 10 years and was a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Logan Williams and a daughter,
Mrs. Sandra Williams, whose addresses are unknown; a brother, Jack Hannah of
Miami, Fla.; and a sister, Mrs. Julia Mae Lovette of Rochelle. |

Edwin Eugene Mullis
Edwin Eugene Mullis, 64, of 5914 Bloomfield Road died
Sunday at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Crest Lawn
Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Gary
Thomas will officiate.
A native of Wilcox County, Mr. Mullis lived in Macon
for the past 40 years and was a member of the Baptist faith. He was a retired
supervisor for the city of Macon and a retired employee of Armstrong World
Industries.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Mullis of Macon;
two sons, Edwin Lynn Mullis of Fort Valley and Wendell Steve Mullis of Macon;
and two grandchildren.
MULLLIS, Edwin Eugene; 64, of 5914 Bloomfield Road died
Sunday at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Crest Lawn
Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Gary
Thomas will officiate. The family will greet friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the
funeral home. The family may be contacted at the residence.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Martha Peacock
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Martha J Peacock 71 at the Siloam
Baptist Church, with the Rev. D. W. Gilmer officiating. Burial was in the
Antioch Cemetery with Dorsey Funeral Home having arrangements.
A native of Laurens County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John
Warren, she moved to Abbeville 20 years ago and was the widow of Jim Peacock.
She died at the home of a daughter, Mrs Plas L. Stone. (Alma) following a
short illness.
Survivors are three daughters: Mrs. (Azellie) M. R. Wooten, Eatonton Ga.,
Mrs. (Alma) Plaz L. Stone, Abbeville, Ga., Mrs. (Thelam) Grover Meeks Turk,
Pineview, Ga.

LEON W PEACOCK DIES IN FLORIDA
Leon Warren Peacock, 42 of Jacksonville, Fla. died at his home August 29,
1957. He was a former resident of Wilcox County. Funeral services were held
Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church near Abbeville with the Rev. Talmadge
Wilcox officiating.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margaret Green Peacock, five children,
Bill, Calvin, Martha Lynn, Kathy and Brenda Kay, all of Jacksonville, three
sisters, Mrs. Plas Stone, Abbeville, Mrs. Thelma Turk, Pineview and Mrs. M. R.
Wootten of Eatonton, two brothers, Wesley Peacock, Ambrose, Ga. and Hilton
Peacock, Fitzgerald.
Pallbearers were Wallace Peacock, James Griffin, Junior Silvers, Reuben
Turk, Charles Peacock and Early Stone.
Burial was to the church cemetery with Dorsey-Jameson Funeral Home in
Charge of arrangements.
