In the name
of God, amen, I Lewis Simmons of said State & County being of advanced
age & knowing that I must shortly depart from this world deem it right &
proper both as respects to myself & my family that I should make a
disposition of the property with which a kind Providence has blessed me.
I therefore make this my last Will & Testament hereby revoking &
annulling all others heretofore made by me.
Item 1st
I desire &
direct that my body be buried in a decent manner suitable to my
circumstances & condition.
Item 2nd
I desire &
direct that all my just debts be paid without delay by my executors
hereinafter named as I am unwilling my creditors should be delayed of
their rights especially as there is no reason for delay.
Item 3rd
I give &
devise to my beloved wife Mary with whom I have lived in the strictest
virtue & love for thirty eight years lot of land no. two hundred & forty
six in the second Dist of Dooly County, also the north half of lot no.
eighty-one in the seventh dist. of Dooly County also lot of land no. one
hundred & fourteen in the seventh district of Dooly County, containing
in all five hundred one & one quarter acres about fifty five which are
now in cultivation with all the rights members appurtenances to said
lots of land in any wise whatever during her natural life. I also give &
bequeath to my wife in the same manner the farming utensils belonging to
said plantation of every description whatever. I also give & bequeath to
my beloved wife all my stock of any kind such as horses & mules, all of
my stock of cattle also my stock of hogs, also my stock of goats &
sheep, also one cain mill & kettle, all my household & kitchen furniture
belonging to said plantation all of which to have during her natural
life.

I
constitute my beloved wife Mary Executor to this my last Will &
Testament.

Simmons, deceased, & saith that he saw Lewis Simmons sign said Will as
his last Will & Testament & that he signed said will as a witness for
the object therein mentioned.
